July 2026 Community Update: Summer Momentum and Community Impact
Summer is in full swing, and July has brought tremendous excitement and momentum for the Poulsbo Police Foundation. Thanks to the incredible support of our community, local businesses, volunteers, and sponsors, we continue to make meaningful progress in our mission of Supporting Those Who Protect Poulsbo.
As we prepare for our largest fundraising event of the year, we are reminded that everything we accomplish is made possible because of people who believe in strengthening the partnership between our community and the Poulsbo Police Department.
The Countdown Is On!
The Inaugural Viking Blue Line Classic Golf Tournament is just around the corner, and the excitement continues to build.
On Wednesday, August 5th, golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and community members will gather at Gold Mountain Golf Course for a day of friendly competition, fellowship, and giving back.
The tournament will feature exciting contests, outstanding prizes, a delicious BBQ reception, and our much-anticipated $10,000 60-Foot Putting Challenge. Every swing, raffle ticket, sponsorship, and donation directly supports programs that benefit the Poulsbo Police Department and the community it serves.
Funds raised through the tournament help provide enhanced officer training, specialized equipment, officer wellness initiatives, and community outreach programs that are not funded through the City's regular budget.
If you haven't registered yet, there's still time to join us. Whether you're golfing, volunteering, sponsoring a hole, or simply cheering on participants, we invite everyone to be part of this exciting inaugural event.

Join Us at National Night Out
Before the golf tournament, we hope you'll join us for National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4th, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Poulsbo Waterfront in downtown Poulsbo.
National Night Out is a wonderful opportunity for residents to meet the men and women of the Poulsbo Police Department, connect with the Poulsbo Police Foundation, and learn more about the programs and initiatives that help keep our community safe.
We'll have Foundation information available, opportunities to learn how you can get involved, and we'd love to meet members of our community who share our passion for supporting local law enforcement. We hope you'll stop by, say hello, and celebrate the strong partnership between our police department and the community it proudly serves.
Help Us Fill 100 Backpacks!
Our Back-to-School Backpack Fundraiser is in full swing, and we need your help to ensure local students start the school year with the supplies they need to succeed.
On Saturday, August 8th, Foundation volunteers will be in front of Walmart in Poulsbo from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., collecting new school supplies and monetary donations for local students and families.
Items such as backpacks, notebooks, pencils, pens, crayons, markers, folders, glue sticks, calculators, and other classroom essentials are greatly appreciated.
Our goal is to provide 100 backpacks filled with supplies to students in our community. Every donation—large or small—helps a child begin the school year prepared, confident, and ready to learn.
If you're shopping that day, please consider picking up a few extra school supplies and dropping them off at our collection booth. Together, we can make a meaningful difference for local families.
Community Makes the Difference
One of the greatest strengths of the Poulsbo Police Foundation is the support we receive from this incredible community.
Whether you have attended one of our events, volunteered your time, sponsored a program, donated to the Foundation, or simply shared our mission with others, you are helping make a lasting impact.
The relationships we continue to build with our residents, businesses, and community organizations allow us to provide resources that enhance public safety while strengthening the partnership between the Poulsbo Police Department and the people they proudly serve.
Looking Ahead

Planning continues for new community events, expanded outreach programs, and future fundraising opportunities—including our Back-to-School Backpack Initiative and the exciting possibility of a community pickleball tournament in 2027.
The future of the Poulsbo Police Foundation is bright, and it is because of supporters like you.

Strengthening the Bond Between Community and Police
Learn how the Poulsbo Police Foundation supports officer training, wellness, and community outreach to strengthen public safety in Poulsbo, Washington.
The Mission of the Poulsbo Police Foundation
Strong communities are built on trust, partnership, and shared responsibility. In Poulsbo, Washington, that partnership is strengthened through the work of the Poulsbo Police Foundation—an organization dedicated to supporting the officers who serve and protect our community every day.
The Foundation exists to bridge the gap between public resources and the evolving needs of modern policing. While the City of Poulsbo provides essential funding for core police services, many important initiatives fall outside traditional municipal budgets. Through community donations and partnerships, the Foundation helps provide the additional resources needed to ensure officers have the tools, training, and support necessary to serve at the highest level.
Investing in Officer Excellence
Modern policing requires continuous training, advanced equipment, and ongoing professional development. The Foundation helps fund programs that enhance officer preparedness and effectiveness, including specialized training opportunities that allow officers to stay ahead of emerging challenges.
These investments ensure that Poulsbo officers are equipped not only with the right tools, but also with the knowledge and skills to respond professionally, compassionately, and effectively in every situation.
Supporting Officer Wellness
Police work is demanding both physically and emotionally. The Foundation recognizes that officer wellness is essential to maintaining a strong and effective department. Through wellness initiatives and recognition programs, the Foundation helps ensure officers receive the support they need to continue serving the community with dedication and resilience.
Strengthening Community Connections
Public safety is strongest when law enforcement and the community work together. The Foundation supports outreach programs that build positive relationships between officers and residents, fostering trust, transparency, and mutual respect.
These programs create opportunities for meaningful interaction, ensuring that the partnership between the Poulsbo Police Department and the community continues to grow stronger.
How the Community Can Help
The success of the Foundation depends on the generosity and involvement of the community it serves. Donations and sponsorships directly support initiatives such as:
Vital equipment for officers
Advanced officer training
Officer wellness programs
Community outreach initiatives
K-9 program support
Every contribution stays local and directly benefits the Poulsbo Police Department and the community it serves.
Building a Safer Poulsbo Together
The Poulsbo Police Foundation believes that public safety is a shared responsibility. By working together—residents, businesses, and law enforcement—we can ensure that Poulsbo remains a safe, welcoming, and thriving community for generations to come.
When you support the Foundation, you are investing in the people who dedicate their lives to protecting our community.
Together, we are strengthening the bond between our officers and the community they proudly serve.
